Shannon provided web design and marketing consultation services when I started my own law firm at the beginning of 2014. She gave me exactly what I needed: innovative, creative work at an extremely reasonable price. And the work product was delivered right on time.

Shannon was an experienced and dependable employee. As a part-time marketing/communications intern she researched, developed, tested and implemented a number of new projects at the Steuben County Community Foundation. She created top-quality publications using Adobe CS5 software (ie: an annual report ), managed a monthly e-newsletter distributed to over 1,000 people, and maintained a steady and effective social media presence of the Foundation. The work she produced was equivalent to any full-time paid professional in our county. Shannon worked comfortably with a variety of employees, volunteers, board members and the community at large. She is a self-starter, mature and compassionate. Shannon is a positive representation of the Steuben County Community Foundation and I highly recommend her marketing skills and vision in a nonprofit or business environment.

I bring a fresh perspective on brand and image for nonprofit organizations. I understand the importance of consistency no matter how big or small the project. From brochures to annual reports, websites, and more I take the time to understand each organization's mission and goals to create a product that captures the essence of their brand. I work with each client to make their ideas a reality, producing a project that their organization will be proud to display. I work closely with the Board of Directors and committees to offer programs and services that benefit member-businesses including advertising, continual learning, networking opportunities, updates on policy and legislation, etc. My goal in my time at the chamber is to increase efficiency, productivity, and membership by updating technology and using a combination of traditional and modern strategies. We want DeKalb County to be a pleasurable place to live, work, and play. When our businesses thrive, the community thrives.

As the Marketing & Communications Intern, I worked with the Communications Manager and CEO to develop monthly e-newsletters, maintain Facebook fan page, re-brand frequently used documents, prepare the annual report, make updates to the website, and develop print materials (save the dates, invitations, posters, etc.) for the annual fundraiser. I also worked on a major project which we named Impact Boards which was a visual representation of the impact the Community Foundation has on Steuben County. I completed daily tasks such as answering phones, maintaining a straight cash drawer, taking reservations, checking guests in and out, giving directions, etc. I went above and beyond to make each guests' stay a satisfactory one. If a problem occurred that the guest was not satisfied, I worked with them to ensure proper compensation was given. In my time at Ramada I brought in approximately 20% of all property direct reservations, and was given the name "un-official assistant manager" by my co-workers. I was a consistent and knowledgeable performer resolving a high majority of problems presented to me, and provided excellent customer service resulting in 100% positive comments from guests.
