Design Director and Front-End Production Manager
-
1999 - 2001
As the #2 hired person, I was instrumental in liaising between the Roman Ericsson team and the American Proxicom team sent for knowledge transfer from their Reston, VA headquarters. As a key member of the core management team, I was directly involved in hiring and mentoring new people in the initial phase of the startup. My primary role was in managing the production process, leading ideation sessions with C-suit clients in government and private sectors and presentations in Italian and English, as well as writing proposals. Pitched, proposed, designed, and managed the front-end production process for the very first websites for Piaggio, Fiat, Arthur Anderson (Italy), and Diners Club (Italy). Show less

Managing Editor and Critic
-
1993 - 1996
Responsibilities included all aspects of preparing the magazine to go to print. I selected and wrote all news pieces, commissioned articles to be written on specific topics, edited the entire publication, worked closely with the graphic design and layout team, and chose images for the magazine’s cover and for accompanying articles and news pieces. Pre-internet, I developed a section called “Aperto,” which initiated a series of “virtual exhibitions”, a two-page spread in the magazine took on the feel of a gallery wall on which artists’ work from a featured city was exhibited along with an article of introduction to that city.
