Recently, I have created and maintained a Wix.com blog, sharing my university essays and personal writings on art history topics I have found interesting. This has allowed me to work using a template to create an online site. For two years in a row, I was welcomed into Welwyn St Mary’s Primary School to gain work experience. During my time there, I would work directly with the students and members of staff, helping during lesson times, running errands and being entrusted to mark work. These experiences were very fulfilling and allowed me to develop skills such as patience, confidence, organisation and time management. I started working at Boots over the busy Christmas period where I quickly had to learn how to use the tills to make sales, assist customers and provide a friendly and welcoming experience. Through working here, I have gained experience in talking to customers, working in a professional and fast-paced retail environment, and also gained confidence. After my contract as a Christmas assistant was over, I was offered a permanent placement and continued to fulfil these roles and responsibilities. In 2016 I participated in the Micro-Tyco challenge. Set up by Wild Hearts and Deloitte, Micro-Tyco is an entrepreneurial challenge that takes place in schools around the country to provide micro loans to people starting businesses in developing countries. I carried out many different events to try and raise as much money as possible for the cause. As the Team Leader of my group, I was responsible for organising and advertising most of these and ensuring everything ran smoothly. At the end of the month, I was one of the few participants to be offered work experience at Deloitte in London. Show less

As a form of work experience, I arranged to work for a week in the London HomeServe office. During this week, I worked in different departments, sales, marketing and customer services. This included contacting customers via telephone, imputing sales orders and general office duties as well as learning more about all areas of the business including advertising, selling and customer service.
