In the summer of 2017 I worked as a counsellor at a children's camp in Massachusetts, teaching theatre to children between 7-15 years olds, running classes on improvisation, song, acting methods and more. I was involved with the summers musical and co-directed the annual play. I was also responsible for the children's well being, responsible for bunks of eleven children at a time living with them, making sure they were safe and looked after and more. Elected into the Lancaster University Theatre Groups Exec this role took a great amount of communication. I was responsible for liaising with external companies to be aware of their theatre scene and find and create opportunities for the groups members, whilst letting group members know of this in a bi-weekly newsletter. I was also responsible for establishing connections with alternative venues for the group to use. I was also appointed the role of Nuffield Liaison in which I was required to be the main point of contact between the professional theatre on the university campus and the theatre group, including making bookings, sorting duty managers, sorting regular meetings and finalising contracts. I worked with the Lancaster University Student Union to create the Lancaster University Disney Society, recruiting around fifty members annually. As President I would chair weekly meetings, leading the rest of the exec to make sure jobs were being done to deadline. I would think creatively making new events every week and would frequently collaborate with other societies to create larger events.
