I had the distinct pleasure of working with Shankar at the Director-level for over 4 years at StrongView/Selligent. We oversaw different but complimentary teams that worked together to ensure customer success on enterprise-level marketing software platforms. Working alongside Shankar is a true collaboration, in the best sense of the word. First and foremost, Shankar is a great manager and leader. As the company evolved, he oversaw a variety of different resources and teams. No matter the unit, they were always high performers, smart, professional and engaged, and willing to do whatever it took. I watched Shankar mentor staff and always provide them with the backing, resources and know-how to be successful. As a result, they swore by him. Shankar is also a great technical and analytical mind, with deep cross-functional knowledge. He knows how to take the most complex ideas, break them down into their essential parts, identify solutions, and communicate this back effectively to any skill set level. He is one of the best mental and physical whiteboarders I have ever worked with. He is superb with customers, able to build quick rapport, as well as long term trust and relationships. He has great communication skills, and knows how to listen and ask the right questions. Beyond this, he is passionate, cares deeply and also has a great sense of humor that is additive to a workplace. I couldn't recommend Shankar higher for any opportunity.

I had the great pleasure of working with Shankar while he was in the role as Sr. Director of Customer Success at Strongview (now Selligent), and the word that I would associate most strongly with him is "leader." While I did not report to him directly, I frequently sought his advice when trying to figure out a technical solution to present to a customer, and I often had to stand in a queue to wait to speak to him because so many people depended on his wise judgment and years of experience to help sort through difficult situations. Shankar has the perfect combination of a cool head and a warm heart, and coupled with the technical skills and knowledge he possesses, he rises above being just a competent leader to being a model of inspiration. In short, he's the sort of manager who knows how to cultivate and retain talented people, which is an increasingly valuable skill for companies who want to attract and keep resources. Not only was Shankar great at managing internal resources, but he excelled at onboarding new customers through finding creative solutions for technical needs as well as being a great communicator in helping them understand how to use the product best. While we were working together on the Yahoo! project (the biggest in the company's history), there were a lot of unknowns, and sometimes it felt like we had hit a brick wall, but I always knew I could count on Shankar to calmly deal with the issues while expertly handling the customer's expectations. His experience and personality make him a valuable asset to any company, and I will always be thankful for the lessons I learned while working with him.
