Shanie is a very-talented graphic designer. I was very impressed with her work when she was a fellow intern at Parisleaf Printing and Design. Shanie excelled in every way and used her creative energy to embark upon innovative projects for the company. She worked with lead graphic designers and made a big impact with the design firm.

City Beauty is a beauty brand that creates cutting-edge skincare solutions accessible for women who want to look as young as they feel. I designed the logo, developed the brand guidelines for print and web use, and I oversee all the branded creatives. I research marketing tactics and beauty brands to create more user-friendly and informative website pages for our target audience to gain optimal results in revenue. I also create email landers and design order pages to increase conversions. I've worked on split testing different design elements and layouts with our marketing strategies. I also designed a variety of print work for promotions or company use. I created the inital packaging (screen printed bottles and unit cartons) and photoshop product shots and swatches. I also designed graphics for blogs and social media. Show less

Golden Hippo Media is a marketing firm that builds brands. I helped develop brand guidelines for print and web use. I research marketing tactics, supplements, and beauty brand to create more userfriendly and informative website pages to gain optimal results in revenue, and create email graphics to increase click-rate. I also design and sometimes code landing pages using marketing and design tactics to increase conversions and revenue, and set up webpages and split tests using 1shoppingcart. I also design a variety of print work for promotions or company use, design labels and unit cartons, and design graphics for blogs and social media. I also shoot, edit, and manipulate images for web and marketing use. I am also the manager of the other four designers in the design department. I managed a team of 4 designers and I trained and hired the new designers to design by using the marketing strategies our company uses, divvy up projects, approve timecards, and give raises. Say Ça! is a Community Leadership Program funded by Fulbright Canada and the U.S. Embassy in Ottawa. It offers free tutoring, mentoring, and cultural outings to Syrian refugee teenagers, providing a foothold from which our students can latch onto their new schools and city. I designed the logo with the idea of community, mentoring, and hope in mind. The idea behind the two heads, are that they are equal and working together to learn from eachother, while the mentor shows guidance. The repetition shows how they work with other groups, and create a flower symbol that represents peace. Show less

Machine Jeans Inc. is a wholesale jean company sold in top fashion retailer brands. I worked with another graphic designer focusing on top designs. I researched fashion and runway trends and incorporated these trends into Photoshopped sample images of the garments and created sample sheets. I also researched and created trendy t-shirt graphics for screen printing. I redesigned the website catering to the junior target audience, and I also shot a weekly catalog photo shoot focusing on the angle and details of the jeans. Show less

One Greek Store retails and manufactures Greek clothing, Greek paraphernalia, custom line jackets, sorority gifts, and greek paddles. I advised and designed graphics for products and screen printing by directly contacting customers. I designed social media, website graphics, and size chart webpage using the model shots I took. Show less

I created this typeface during my internship at Parisleaf, the globally minded design and printing firm. This typeface depicts not only the design aspect of this company, but also the earth friendly process they practice. The process of folding origami leaves inspired this typeface in which many of the design qualities of this typeface parallel the characteristics of origami. I focused on the repetition of lines, the shadows, the idea of creating base folds for final folds, and the transformation of form. Show less
