  Currently working as a Fundraising, PR & Comms manager for the longest running homelessness charity in the city is extremely rewarding. I use my time to develop new funding leads whilst raising our social profile to make more people aware of our incredible service. We have seen much growth and engagement since adopting a role focusing on our communications, which has been a real success for us. Using skills I have gained by being a rather social person and my previous backgrounds, I have developed lasting supportive relationships for our charity. In our 50th year, I have been met with new challenges as we had previously organised a long list of interactive events for all to attend, but sadly COVID-19 has put a spanner in the works for now. This has been a real test, to find new and inventive ways to engage our audiences online and explore options for future working. Thankfully, this has also worked out well for my role as we continue to see the kindness of the community and I have been able to make real use of my technical and self-taught IT skills. It has also remained my responsibility to communicate with our external relations and construct informative press releases to spread further awareness.A real pleasure in this role for me has been the chance to put my creative interests into practice also -designing information, photography, posters, logos and advertisements for our charity to use. It is certainly enjoyable when hobbies and occupation cross paths!
