  Data Centre project in Finland. Project Engineer / Construction Manager Mechanical Installation. Primary responsibility was the supervision and planning of Sea Water Cooling Package. The Data Centre utilised sea water from the Gulf of Finland as a cooling medium. Cooling of the facility was acheived by transferring heat from a processed cooling water circuit to the Sea Water via Plate Heat Exchangers. Distribution of Sea Water was by specialist corrosion proof heavy gauge HDPE pipe. New 710mm OD diameter pipe work had to be installed connecting the Sea to tempering building to heat-exchangers and finally drain out to sea again. Installation of spool pieces to allow for future plant and isolation and drain valves. Installation of a complex installation of pipework supports and expansion restraints was also required.
