Shane worked for me for nine months in 2019 as an editor on a series of shorts for an overseas client focusing on geological science. Prior to this role, he was a student of mine in the BLUE HORIZONS environmental media production program at University of California, Santa Barbara. Although Shane was still in school, he dedicated himself to the editing project and worked hard at honing the craft of editing. Shane developed a good sense of pace and the significance of sequences, making him a competent editor for smaller projects. In time, I am confident that Shane will expand his production skills and be an asset to any crew. But it is Shane's attitude that is most notable: he is a pleasure to work with. He's quick with a smile and takes critiques well. He's good at communication, staying in touch without ever being annoying. And he does what he says he is going to do, an ethic I hold in high regard. In short, I strongly recommend Shane for entry level production opportunities as a camera operator, an editor, or PA. He is a go-getter who will serve your project well.
