Bio
Michael Donlevy
Shane has natural leadership abilities and exemplifies strength of character, maturity and determination that I would value in an employee, a colleague or a job applicant. In his role with our Student Association, Shane inteacted easily with student colleagues and high-profile community members and political leaders, representing student interests and advancing the image of RDC in an engaging way. He demonstrated determination and resiliancy when his studies were unexpectedly interrupted in his final year with RDC, ensuring that he completed his program and successfully transferred to the UofA to complete a Business Degree. He was formally recognized for this and deservedly so. I have no hesitation in recommending Shane and endorsing his solid ability and potential.

I had the opportunity to work with Shane on many projects at Red Deer College. As the student association representative on many initiatives I was able to see first hand Shane in action. He is very thoughtful, respectful and pragmatic in his approach, always seeking the best solution through collaboration. Shane thoughh, always keeps clear sight on the obejctives at hand and works diligently to achieve them. Shane very effectively balances a heavy workload and never fails to meet his commitments and obligations. He displays solid leadership characteristics successfully influencing those around him.

I am responsible for coordinating the purchase and shipment of all materials to support our crew of more than 90 workers on the Suncor Fort Hills Oil Sands site, including Electricians, Plumbers, HVAC Technicians, Carpenters, Building Operators, Locksmiths and Labourers. As a maintenance provider the nature of the materials required to complete our scope of work can vary from basic to complex. Over the past two years I have developed a working knowledge of all materials used frequently by the trades listed above as well the most efficient manner in which to transport these materials to our work site. I am responsible for overseeing all company owned and rental equipment, including a fleet of 25 light vehicles and more than 15 pieces of equipment including loaders, AWPs, rough terrain fork lifts, and construction heaters. Since joining Fort McKay Alcor I have developed and implemented a maintenance program for our fleet, including daily and weekly inspections of all light vehicles, pre-use inspections of all company owned and rental equipment and a system for tracking the resolution of all maintenance issues.I have assisted with the development of a number of business practices that have helped to increase our efficiency and better manage our supply chain. As a maintenance provider we are often called on in an emergency. By working closely with our vendors we are able to adapt quickly to changing conditions and get our customers back to work with minimal downtime all while ensuring the health and safety of our workers.
