Curlew Action Team Assistant

Helping to spread awareness on Curlew decline on Ireland's breeding birds in Co. Leitrim. Mainly conducting vantage point and walk over surveys to note any general and breeding behavior and number of chicks hatched on their breeding sites. Other things to note was potential habitats to focus on, mammal activity (scats, trails, footprints) and birds of interest (predator and not common). Team member of Bioclass project by providing desk reviews into a standardised report and Arc GIS updates for field ecologists. Collating information freely available from the National Biodiversity Data Centre and NPWS that may be used for decision making in terms of species presence, habitat identification and future management plans. Maintaining, updating and reviewing final reports for forests within the Coillte estate as part of the project.
