Data Scientist

As a Business Process & IT Graduate I gained expertise in three vital areas of our IT department: In the IT operations role I solved HW/SW issues, liased with our SAP support staff in relation to our ERP systems, re-engineered slow out-dated or unnecessary processes within IT-Ops as wella as developed innovative solutions to everyday IT obstacles experienced by staff and visitors alike. In the Business Analytics role I liaise with team leads from different parts of the business in order to facilitate user-required changes to our SAP, external and in house software systems. As a Data Scientist I use SQL & SPSS to analyse business and consumer data in order to generate reports reflecting current company standings in relation to set company goals and the continuous development of tables & clusters for our our DBs and Data Lake. Using analytical and programming languages such as R & Python to understand statistics relating to customer behaviour, usage of company products/services and the development of innovative products. Automating major manual internal processes using the above programming languages Scraping data from multiple sectors of the business, using data visualization tools like Tableau in order to meet business requirements and confirm data quality.

• Look after customer applications that were integrated with our content management solution known as Multiscreen. • On the Development team for our Active Cloak application (which is a part of our multiscreen solution). • Configured our IT helpdesk system SysAid and was in charge of knowledge, asset and change management company wide via SysAid. • During my time in the NOC I was in charge of looking after all our servers and datacentres across the globe using monitoring systems such as Nagios and Pingdom.
