Shakira and I worked alongside at Cspace, a marketing research/consumer agency in Boston, and at one point I was her reporting manager. With a background in agency work, long hours, multiple clients, priorities and deadlines were not new to her. However, it was incredibly fast-paced at Cspace and Shakira immediately rose to the occasion with her incredible skills. Yes, she was great with clients; yes, she understood insight and research, and yes, she was a terrific multi-tasker and strategist. Bur her super strengths, where she truly shone, was in her ability to do it all flawlessly and always with a smiling, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude. There were many, many new and challenging goals thrown at her, and she never backed down. Her disposition was always positive, and she thrived on challenges. She was hungry for feedback, asked the right questions, and never let her clients or her teammates down. Shakira is a tremendous team player, and I was extremely sorry to lose her to another department (but thrilled for the opportunity it offered her). I cannot speak enough about her communication skills, ability to stay on top of everything without things falling off her radar even once in a while, and pulling off large, challenging initiatives. I would jump at the chance to work with Shakira again someday, and am 100% confident that she will put her all in any endeavor she pursues -- and succeed. Any organization would be extremely lucky to snag her.
