This role was primarily emphased on isolating the business layer of the Tigerspike's core product 'pheonix' from the application layer using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). Using MS .NET Webservices and WCF, I was able to transform the whole business layer into WCF service endpoints thus making it more accessible and location independent for other products of Tigerspike. Requirement of this role was to write an automated scheduled application that could run on every store (Australia wide) at the end of the day and uploads all the sales information to the central database system. My responsibility was to write a Windows base .Net service that could run at a schedule time at each store, talks to the remote Web Service and eventually gathered the data at one central database system. I was able to finish the development of the service before time, having extra time in unit testing and finally rolling out the service in all the BigW stores in Australia. Show less
