  This was a concurrent assignment along with Principal Secretary to the Government in Tourism and Archeology department where the responsibilities encompassed the growth of tourism in the state, development and restoration ofmonuments and providing for tourist friendly facilities and environment for the tourists. RTDC and RSHC maintain over 70 hotels, resorts and heritage properties and it was my responsibility to oversee th operation of these properties.   As Secretary incharge and Chairman of the coordination Committee of all power generation, Transmission and Distribution companies, I was responsible for the effective management of power situation in the state of Rajasthan for about 4 years. This involved finalising the vendors for critical and super critical power plants, efficient genration of power, its transmission and distribution from the pwer generation, transmission and distribution companies respectively including sorting out issues with the State power regulator and balancing the demand for power with the potential of the state for producing renewable energy. During this period, I was also the Chairman of the Northern Region Power Committee which oversaw the resolution of issues arising in the Northern states of the country. Show less

  The primary responsibility was negotiation of world trade rules at the Doha Round for Agriculture in a multilateral setting with 170 other member countries at the WTO making sure that the interests of India and its 250 million cultivators and agriculture labour. The discharge of this responsibility gave me a unique opportunity and experience of interacting, negotitating and dealing with Ministers, Ambassadors and agriculture lobbies across the Globe, that was truly exclusive and beyond match.
