I did research and development for the MoonShop project while working at Cape AI. This work was primarily computer vision based. I developed algorithms to work towards a completely autonomous retail environment which tracks human actions using computer vision. In addition to this, I developed an algorithm to manage the tracking of multiple individuals across frames. In addition to this development work, I wrote a set of research topics which outlined the future technical development of MoonShop. I also assigned these topics to, and managed, other interns who joined the project after me. Show less

I developed Computer Vision based tools for the study of a new coolant being deployed at the ATLAS experiment, based at CERN. I developed a traditional image-processing based algorithm for the automatic extraction of the void fraction value from images of bubbly flow. Along with this, I developed a CNN+LSTM model for the classification of flow regime from videos of two-phase flow. I extended this model to directly extract certain fluid-dynamic properties from the input videos through regression. I deployed these CNN+LSTM models in real time, on site, with the aim to use the data produced by these models as sensor data to be used within a control-feedback loop. This work, and more, contributed to my Masters dissertation . Show less
