As a legal intern, my responsibilities included: - Drafting answers to queries on Competition Law and Finance Agreement Essentials - Drafting answers to queries on restructuring of Mark-up agreements - Drafting answers to queries on Income Tax Skills gained: Research and lateral thinking skills: Working in this capacity helped me develop my research capabilities and my critical and analytical thinking skills as I was expected to draw from a number of sources including weekly/annual law reports and case law from various online and offline sources. Organisational skills and attention to detail: Translating research into formal, structured documents helped me deliver on deadlines as well as gain an understanding of language, communications and the importance of applying this to relevant context. Commercial awareness: During the course of my two internships with RIAA, I was encouraged to build my commercial acumen both by gaining an understanding of the organisations financial goals and keeping up-to-date with the world of business through economic journals and mainstream news.
