Project title: Investigation on static strength of welded joints In this project, the effect of butt weld joint geometries, different filler metals, and different heat inputs on the static strength of high strength steels produced by SSAB (Weldox 960 and Weldox 1100) were studied. In addition, Finite element method (FEM) studies were applied in order to simulate the behavior of such joints in case of uniaxial tensile load application. In conclusion, both experiments and FEM analysis revealed that the tensile strength of the welded joints is raised by increasing the width of the weldment when the thickness is kept as constant. Deep Offshore Technology (DOT) is one of the leading offshore companies in the Persian Gulf. DOT performs all sorts of offshore installation projects, including marine transportation, heavy lifting, sub-sea pipe laying, cable laying, salvage activities, pipeline replacement & platform renovation, and also related engineering and procurement services. As a quality assurance engineer I was responsible for design and preparation of quality manuals, quality plans, inspection and test plans or quality control plans for projects. Owing to practical experience in leading companies towards quality, environmental and HSE management systems; I accepted the challenge and led DOT towards implementing and maintaining quality, environmental and HSE management systems based on ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. I designed several procedures, work instructions and other required bases. I acted as a vocational QMS, EMS, and HSE instructor to prepare the staff and organization to achieve this goal. After about 2 years, the mission was fulfilled by achieving the IMS certificates after days of external audit by BVQI auditors. After that huge project I started to revise the system in order to meet the demands and prepare for the coming surveillance audits. Show less
