Bio
Joe Araiza
I have had the pleasure in working with Seth over the years at the City of Decatur. He's been a true inspiration for GIS within his organization, helping his organization advance to the next level of driving adoption. Seth has demonstrated his eagerness to connect with people, teams, departments, and most importantly executive leadership to help drive results in his efforts of modernizing GIS at the City of Decatur. Some of the great success and work that Seth has demonstrated has been around the ongoing initiative of their Community Revitalization Plan by applying Esri's COTS Applications and providing others with a level of access to gain more insight to their program for decision support. Seth has what it takes being a leader in innovation and driving results at the local government level.

As a GIS Consultant I have worked with local government organizations to learn what processes are in place within the organization, analyze those processes to see if GIS can be applied to them in a beneficial way, listen to customer needs and translate those needs into viable solutions. Those solutions often take the form of web and mobile apps, data imported into spatially-aware databases, and the ability to access and modify data by staff in the field or in the office.
