Before entering the world of car and truck rentals, I believed that the job could not be very complicated, and I never understood why it appeared to be so difficult to rent a vehicle. Ever since working at Discount, I have learned that there are various variables that must be taken into account when offering a rental vehicle. Also, I have learned all the logistics that are in play to make the customer's experience as simple and positive as possible.Ever since I began working at Discount, I have had the opportunity to further put into practice my skills in customer service, and I have also learned how to plan ahead to ensure that branch's needs for the following days are not affected by current situations. Discount has also helped me further shape my perception of customer service as a part of the marketing effort for the brand. Another big part of working in in-person customer service is learning how to adapt to changing situations while you have the customer in front of you, this has helped me improve my ability to effectively solve problems, and adapt to new situations. Additionally, I have learned how to work as part of a well-organized team to ensure that the branch's performance is at its peak at all times. Learning how to time manage to assure that everybody had their responsibilities covered, and completed at the end of the day has been the most challenging part of my job, but I feel I am improving in that regard daily.

With my first retail experience, I went in with an open mind, and not knowing what to expect. This was my first time providing customer service with a face to face setting, and have to find the best solution for the customer's needs. With this job I listened to the customer's necessities, and what they were looking for in a product. Armed with this information, I would provide them with the type of products that I believed would better fit their needs, and adapt as much as it could to what they were looking for. As a part of the store's daily objectives, we had to achieve a daily budget in sales. This budget was split into different departments, and footwear, which I was a part of, usually had the highest allocation to achieve. This daily budget was always met, my personal performance played an essential role in achieving this budget as I routinely surpassed $1.500 in sales.During my time at Sportchek, I further learned how to work as part of a team, and learned to reach out to my team members whenever I needed assistance or wasn't confident with what I could recommend to the customer. This led to me improving my communication skills due to having to convey the customer's needs and also my doubts to my fellow team members.

Senior engagement specialist

Feb 2017 - Sep 2017
After my time as an Engagement Specialist, I earned a promotion to Senior Engagement Specialist. In this role, I continued to improve my performance and my involvement with the company. Within this new role, I assumed duties that involved providing support to my team in aiding them with any doubts they may have, to resolve the issues presented during their calls. Also, with this new role, I took on the responsibility of training new team members and helping them get used to the processes that they had to complete in order to achieve an optimal performance.I grew personally with this post with learning how to set out objectives and trace strategies to achieve them, not only as an individual but also as a team. I also had the chance to develop my leadership skills, as I was tasked with maintaining the team's motivation high to achieve the monthly goals set out by upper management.

May 2016 - Feb 2017
Being my first job in Canada, and also my first experience in direct customer service, I was not sure on what to expect from this job. I believed that working in an inbound calling centre would be a simple job without too much stress. Startek was an eye-opener; seeing how such a big company could work and provide top notch customer service while still being profitable. In this job, I learned how to multitask, and be able to find solutions for problems that required resolution in a timely fashion. We were tasked with listening to the customer's concerns or any inquiries that they may have regarding their service or bill.During my time as an engagement specialist, I managed to maintain a performance that surpassed the expected goal every month, while volunteering to assist my coach in providing support to newer team members.

Sales and Marketing Manager
-
Oct 2015 - May 2016
As my first job after studying, I was anxious to implement what I had learned to real-world situations. With Frontino I experienced how a startup worked, and what had to be done to increase the brand's market share with a limited budget. As a small team, we were able to introduce ourselves to new markets thanks to our approach to digital marketing, and harnessing its power to reach customers that otherwise would have been far out of our reach. Using social media like Reddit and Instagram, we began to offer our products overseas with an incursion into Colombia, Panama and the United States.Working in a small company environment, I learned how to have a continuously open channel of communication with my coworkers that led to a strong sense of community, and to always work together to achieve our objectives.
