  As the boss of the oldest Brazilian research institute (founded by Emperor D. Pedro I in 1827) between Nov 2003 and June 2013, I leaded a team of around 140 staff (50+ doctorate researchers and engineers) dedicated to astronomy, geophysics, and metrology of time and frequency areas, who benefited by a virtuous period of investment in scientific and technological infrastructure projects in Brazil.
