  Research consortium formed by companies of the shoe machinery field and the National Research Council (CNR), Institute of Industrial Technologies and Automation, and mission in the analysis and the development of innovative methodologies for the production of the shoe and in the training of specialized technicians; position of Director, with responsibility in the coordination of the research activity, in the contacts with the national and international research agencies and in the management, in general of the activities of the Consortium. In such position I have coordinated, both from the technical and administrative point of view, the research project SPI 6 (National Program of Research on Innovative Production Systems, topic n. 6 dedicated to the development of an automated and integrated system for the production of footwear), with a total budget of approximately 5.5 million Euro and 15 partner involved. This role gave me the possibility to widen my professional experience to all the most important technologies and production processes of footwear, to deepen my knowledge in the managerial and operational aspects of the shoe enterprise and to focus on all the most relevant innovation issues in the leather goods and footwear pipelines and on its macroeconomic aspects. Within the SPI 6 research project, I was moreover responsible for the final phase of productive validation, that implied the setting up and running of a prototype shoe production plant, which gave me the possibility of maturating of a direct experience in operating and managing footwear production. From March 2001, Technical Coordinator of the European research project EUROShoE, on the topic of mass customization applied to shoes, with 34 partners from 9 various European countries and a total budget of approximately 17 million Euro.
