Sergey is very personable, professional and is passionate about what he does. I hired Sergey as a network operations engineer at Ricoh in 2017, during which I oversaw his work as the network team lead. He is detailed orientated and has often gone above and beyond. I’m extremely happy with the work Sergey did at Ricoh and I give him my full recommendation.

We had been working together with Sergey at RusHydro Company. During that time Sergey proved himself as highly qualified network engineer, excellent team player and reliable person. You can always ask him for help and get wholesome advice. He is focused on result and always finds solutions to complex problems.

I joined Sydney Trains as a contractor to design, document, build and commission data network for Rail Operations Centre (ROC) project. This was one of the most interesting and exciting projects I’ve ever been involved with. Here I had a chance to work with a team of professionals with different backgrounds and experiences in IT, control systems, construction and more. This was completely different to most of my previous jobs when I primarily was working with IT and Telecommunications engineers. The project has followed strict requirements related to systems engineering methodologies and the V-model of a systems development lifecycle. I joined the project in the middle of the design phase but my strong networking background and previous experience working in the Rail industry has allowed me to catch up quickly. I was writing design documentation, ASA Type approvals, BoM, implementation and testing plans, maintenance guides, undergoing review and approval processes, providing feedback to RAM & FMECA analysis, Safety Assurance analysis. I have been managing internal and external stakeholders including the procurement team, vendors, sub-contractors, maintenance and commissioning teams. It was also very exciting to learn about ATRICS software that is used by Sydney Trains to monitor, manage, and control trains. Tech skills: Cisco 3650 (LACP, VRFs, OSPF) | Cisco 6509-E switch (VSS, VRFs, OSPF, LACP) | Cisco ASA5525-X firewalls (Active/Standby) | Senetas CN6100 Encryptor | VMWare Cluster with StarWind vSAN Show less

I worked at Ricoh Australia in the Network team providing support, monitoring, troubleshooting services as well as network audits, fixes and upgrades to 40+ SMEs and large enterprises. It was a great pleasure to be a part of the very dynamic, professional, and skilful team. My primary responsibilities were around BAU, troubleshooting network faults, change management and implementation, monitoring and support. Being a proactive and curious person, I was looking at every fault or trouble in a customer’s infrastructure as an opportunity to improve things, find instability patterns and resolve them. This led me to be a frequent presenter at weekly CAB meetings, proposing changes to customers’ network architecture and configurations to improve reliability, redundancy and resolve root causes of ongoing issues. My active position was noticeable, and I was becoming involved in different projects doing network audits for existing clients, creating documentation, providing recommendations for network upgrades, etc. I was also involved in cybersecurity analysis, mitigation planning and even Internet/VPN/MPLS service provisioning and quoting for potential customers. Tech skills: Cisco firewalls (ASA5525, ASA5555, ASAv5) | Fortinet Fortigate firewalls | Data Centre infrastructure (ASR1002-X, ASR-9001 Chassis, CSR1000V) | Cisco Switches (C6509, C4503 VSS, WS-C3850-48P stack | Cisco Wireless controllers | F5 BigIP Show less

Networx is a small ISP/MSP company that uses a wide range of technologies and vendors. I was working here as a Network Engineer on multiple projects/upgrades, also doing BAU, troubleshooting and providing network support services. This was my first job in Australia, and I learned a lot here, not only in the professional field but also about Aussie culture and even slang))). The team was really like a family: supportive, friendly, and reliable. I am very grateful for being a part of it for almost 2 years and for all the experience I gained. My responsibilities included design and implementation of managed services (hosted, security and Internet services), conduct customer network analysis/audits, L2/L3 technical support. Completed projects: › Network and security optimisation project for a law firm with multiple offices across Australia (enhanced network security, simplified the whole architecture and increased redundancy between customer offices). › Cisco firewall to SonicWALL NSA5600 firewall migration project for Darwin City Council (included complex IPv4/IPv6 BGP configuration with 2 ISPs) › Data Centre upgrade project (upgraded Palo Alto 5050 Active/Passive HA pair with new hardware, Dell Force10 switches) which improved throughput and reliability of the network › Load-Balancer migration project (deployed A10 ADC Load-Balancer and migrated all servers from F5 BigIP) which resulted in enhanced network performance and reduced operational costs Tech skills: PaloAlto firewalls (PA-500, PA-2050, PA-4020, PA-5050) & Panorama | Check Point firewalls (R71, R75.40) | Cisco ASA | SonicWALL firewalls | Cisco routers & switches (3925, 2921/K9, 2821, C2960X, C3750X, C2960X, C6500) | Dell switches (PCM6348, PCM8024-k, PCT 8024F, S55, Force10 4064F, S4810, N4032, S4048-ON) | HP ProCurve switches (5412zl , 5406zl) | F5 and A10 ADC & load balancers Show less

RusHydro is one of the largest hydroelectric power producers in the world. I worked at one of the branches (Volgograd Hydro-Electric station) as a Telecommunications and Network Engineer. The overall responsibilities were to provide support and maintenance for network and telecommunication infrastructure, firewalls, monitoring system. I was constantly looking for things to improve and make better, simpler, more resilient. I’ve redesigned internal VLANs, was involved in a security upgrade project to replace Cisco ASA firewall, upgraded OT PABX system and optimised its configuration. Tech skills: Cisco ASA 5515 | SonicWALL firewalls (NSA 2400, NSA 220M) | Cisco routers (881W, 2811, 1941) | MikroTik routers (CRS, CCR) | Ubiquiti routers | Cisco switches (C2960G, C3750G, C2960) | Dell switches (PCT6248P, PCT7048P) | Ubiquiti switches | SolarWinds Show less

Russian Railways is the company which operates one of the largest railway networks in the world. I started my career at one of the company’s branches in Volgograd (Russia) as a Telecommunications and Network Engineer. Initially, I was only providing support and maintenance for network, PABX, multiplexers SDH and PDH, ADSL modems, IP phones and more. Also, I’ve been involved in writing technical specifications and requirements for upgrading existing network infrastructure. After the first year of work, I was known as a proactive young engineer and fast learner. As a result, I was included in the Professional Services team and have been involved in several network and telecommunications infrastructure projects. Tech skills: PABX | CWDM, SDH, PDH Multiplexers | ADSL modems | Cisco IP phones | Routers Cisco 836, 2811, Mikrotik | Switches Cisco Catalyst 2960, 2950, 3550, 3750 Show less
