This position required a high level of confidentiality as well as being Ministry of Justice Vetted and DBS Checked. This allowed me to carry keys and access sensitive information which I then had to input into various Microsoft Office Programmes such as Excel and Word as well as industry specific software. I had access to two main pieces of software which I had to use daily to conduct intense and accurate research on clients. I then input this information into trackers and it was of the utmost importance that the information was correct. After only 4 weeks with the company a new legislation came in to place and I was put in charge of creating a new tracking process, which I did. It worked well and is still being used in the office. I also dealt with emails and phone calls from client’s family members, members of the public, company/prison officials and various councils.

Permit Technician

Dec 2015 - Feb 2018
As a Permit Officer as part of the GMRAPS CSC Team at Transport For Greater Manchester, it was my job to asses permits submitted by Utilities and check they have all the correct information attached before passing them through to the relevant Authority. If they did not have the correct information attached then I would refuse the permit back for alteration. I did daily financial checks on permits and assess the charges added then either invoice them or clear them depending on whether the charge was correct. I could also apply discounts to permits if the charges met the relevant terms. I created several reports to be used on the websites of organisations such as Manchester City Council and The Institute Of Couriers, as well as reports that monitor the Key Route Network in Greater Manchester and a Signal Timings Report that assesses the Traffic Management being used on works taking place, to ensure disruptions is kept to a minimum.I attended a weekly meeting with employees from our Control Centre, Bus Companies, local councils and Metrolink team to discuss up coming works and events that may cause disruption. It was then my job to obtain any extra information that had been requested such as Traffic Management Plans, working times and diversion routes.
