He got MPhil in Development Communication and Extension, from the Postgraduate institute of agriculture University of Peradeniya and got through Master of Social Sciences (MSSc) in Mass Communication from University of Kelnaiya, PGD in Applied sociology from university of Colombo ) B.A honours Degree in Mass Communication from university of Kelaniya, and Certificate in Teaching in higher education(staff Development program for university lecturers) He is also proficient with more than 20 years teaching experience in both Sinhala English Medium in both public and the private sectors, Experienced in conducting Researches, curriculum development, Academic coordinating experienced, editing Publications, experienced in Supervision, production of educational video materials attached to the Open University of Sri Lanka and other National Universities. He started his career and worked as a lecturer in Mass Communication from 1997 to 2000 attached to Department of Mass Communication of university of Kelaniya Sri Lanka , From 2000 to 2010 he worked as a lecturer in Communication attached to the Department of Social Studies of the Open University of Sri Lanka, And also he worked as the first Head of the Department of humanities of the Aquinas University College, Colombo, Sri Lanka from 2014-2017.
