  As Physical Therapist and Lead Clinical Educator at UT Southwestern Clements University Hospital from March 2020 to December 2022, I had the privilege of leading the education and training initiatives for a department of 135 PT/OT/technicians. In this dual role, I not only provided direct patient care for 20% of my time, but also spearheaded new employee onboarding and all employee education and training.One of my significant achievements was successfully reducing the length of new employee onboarding by 20%, while simultaneously improving employee retention by 30% through process improvements and enhancements to the onboarding program. I also served on the acute therapy leadership team, contributing to committees such as the Acute Therapy Services Preceptorship class and Education Council, as well as facilitating clinical student rotations and serving as an EPIC Practice Champion.I continuously demonstrated a commitment to performance improvement through clinical education and skills assessments, ensuring that our team remained up-to-date with the latest practices and protocols. Additionally, I played a key role in leading practice updates in areas such as sternal precautions following cardiothoracic surgery, Joint Center of Excellence certification for hip and knee replacement, and UE splinting for neurological patients.I am proud of the impact I made as the Clinical Education Lead, both in providing exceptional patient care and leading the education and training initiatives for my department.   As a Physical Therapist at UT Southwestern Clements University Hospital from March 2016 to March 2020, I had the opportunity to provide care to patients with a wide range of conditions, including joint replacements, musculoskeletal injuries, spinal cord injuries, strokes, amputations, and orthopedic surgeries. I utilized functional outcome measures such as AMPAC, Berg Balance Scale, Tinetti Tool, and Functional Status Score ICU tool to assess and monitor patients' progress.In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I also served as an annual lecturer within the UTSW Physical Therapy program, where I presented on the topic of communicating effectively with patients and providers in the healthcare environment. I also took on the role of a clinical educator, guiding full-time students from UTSW and TWU through their acute care rotations, with a focus on neuro and orthopedic cases. I was privileged to serve as a clinical educator every year within the UT Southwestern and TWU Physical Therapy program, mentoring students during their 8-week and 12-week clinical rotations.Furthermore, I led an early mobility seminar for staff members in the CVICU at Clements University Hospital, demonstrating my commitment to promoting evidence-based practices and improving patient outcomes. During the challenging times of the 2020 pandemic, I also took the lead in conducting a UTSW Simulation Lab, showcasing my adaptability and leadership skills in navigating unprecedented situations.Working at UT Southwestern Clements University Hospital was a fulfilling experience, and I am proud of the impact I made in providing quality care to patients, educating and mentoring students, and contributing to the advancement of best practices in physical therapy.
