- Identify and develop energy conservation measures (ECM's) and initiatives, including expected energy savings, estimating implementation costs, simple payback, life cycle cost analysis, energy savings and return on investment - Regularly review and monitor facilities HVAC systems via Building Management System (BMS) and real time monitoring software to verify that all the equipment is operating as required to achieve energy savings goals - Identify energy conservation projects that include both capital and operational measures - Perform energy use benchmarks (Energy Star) - Work with project managers to assure that work meets business needs, applicable codes and standards of quality - Knowledge of NFPA 70 and NFPA 72 codes and standards - Prepare technical reports and presentations to show how our facilities reduce natural gas and electric consumption as well as their carbon footprint - Design electrical distribution systems including power, lighting and photovoltaic. - Developed renewable energy projects using photovoltaic systems and wind turbines as well as energy conservation projects to produce combined heat and power (cogeneration) - Prepare electrical drawings, data sheets, specifications, design calculations and RFPs - Savings achieved through the implementation of energy efficiency projects that I have worked on was $3.4 million in 2011. Consequently 7,700 tons of CO2 were not emitted to the atmosphere because of the reduction in electricity and natural gas consumption.
