My first placement was as Sales Support within the Prepared product pillar. The role involved coordinating product launches with new customers, planning promotions with major retailers by looking at previous sales data, looking at market data to identify trends and opportunities and dealing with any customer enquiries. For my second placement I worked as a Onion development technologist. The role involved looking at data from the grader to create a league table for the different G's onions growers. This role also involved data gathering for an onion modelling project. This involved following three plots for a season and gathering data from each site. My third placement was as account support within the non-retail and processing customers. This role involved processing customer orders , organising transport , responding to foreign body complaints and communicating with growers to discuss availability and any quality issues. My fourth placement was within the central compliance team. This involved implementing the use of "Supplier Approval", a piece of software created by Muddy Boots , which stores supplier due diligence documents and allows the product supply chain to be mapped. The project has involved populating the software with the due diligence information , inviting users to the system and training colleagues how to use the system. As well as the project, the role has involved day to day compliance aspects, such as organising samples for laboratory testing and ensuring that suppliers have the correct documentation. My final placement was as a Process Technologist within the Chilled Convenience Food side of G's Fresh. This involved organising factory trials of new products or packaging , organising and understanding micro bacteria testing and results , running shelf life trials as well as supporting the wider technical team.
