Event Manager
-
Mar 2018 - May 2022
Working for an events company whilst studying for my undergraduate degree and quickly progressing to a management role due to hard work in tough working environments. As an assistant event manager I was responsible for the smooth running of the bars at events with 1000's of customers and up to 100 staff, liaising with clients and stakeholders and overseeing operations, usually undertaking all the same roles as the event manager in their absence. Disaster Recovery Volunteer
-
Jan 2020 - Mar 2020
Assisting in the recovery efforts after Hurricane Harvey, my role was primarily to rebuild homes that were destroyed by flooding during the disaster, giving me an insight into the world of humanitarianism and allowing me to see first hand the devastating effects natural disasters have on the lives of ordinary people. During my time here I also volunteered with a people-trafficking charity, as well as at food banks.
