I have worked with many professionals throughout my journey, but Sebastian was a unique one to work. We worked together for nearly three years at TransPerfect where my position is Project Manager and he is E-learning developer. We’ve joined our hands on several E-learning projects and I was always impressed by his performance and quality. Sebastian makes sure he completes tasks on time and to his utmost best. What he surprised me most is that he usually goes above and beyond his duty to spot quality issues (inconsistency issues in the courses etc.) that could cause more work in the later stage. Sebastian was the Storyline developer on many of the projects that I led for at TransPerfect; I was always reassured when I learned he has been assigned to work on my accounts. What set Sebastian apart from many of his colleagues in the same role was his proactivity and his problem-solving. He never alerted me to a problem without also proposing at least one, but often multiple solutions, which made my job as the Account Manager infinitely easier. I remember several times that he found errors or inconsistencies in the courses he was developing –whether these came from the client, the software, himself, or another colleague was irrelevant –he proactively took responsibility and resolved them before anyone else had flagged them and they became a critical issue. I was proud during my time at TransPerfect to see Sebastian transition from the background to the foreground in terms of his interaction with our clients. Though he is not in a traditionally client facing role, I felt very comfortable having him consult directly with clients and lead project calls. His maturity, technical knowledge of the software, excellent listening skills and initiative, ensured that our clients were always satisfied and felt like their true needs were being understood. He was capable of listening to their concerns and proposing solutions in real-time to be discussed and tried out in Storyline. He did this all with a quiet humility, never trying to draw attention to himself, always thinking of the team, which endeared him to everyone he worked with.
