My journey with Sean started in 2011- his mission was to ensure the continuity of our supply chain while we implemented SAP in our business. Sean very quickly demonstrated the qualities that were to become the hallmarks of his contribution of the next four years, his single-minded determination to succeed in delivering on agreed outcomes, his obsession with detail, ensuring that each element of every activity contributed positively to his goals, his fierce loyalty his teams, ensuring they had the resources, skills and support needed to achieve their tasks, his collaborative approach to managing the activities, ensuring that his colleagues, his bosses and his teams were aligned and informed all the time, his pragmatism, always matching the demands of the business against the reality of the world around us and finally, his courage to challenge his colleagues, to make and execute difficult decisions, to resist pressure to over-commit. His assimilation onto the executive management committee soon after he joined was a natural progression. Sean systematically built a committed and successful supply chain team, improved operating efficiencies, managed complex projects and implemented fundamental strategic realignment of our supply chain over the time he was with L'Oreal. He was a trusted partner in the management team, and I thoroughly enjoyed our interaction over the past four years.
