Sean employs a high degree of organization into process and program that requires attention to both detail and follow through. The volume of clients he works with is amazing relative to the demands they place on his time. From time to time we find ourselves, via our different departments, working together to facilitate some sort of hiring activity benefiting his clients as well as the employers I regularly see. He's a tremendous asset to this organization.

    • Career Counseling Intern
      • Jan 2014 - Aug 2014

As an intern at Career Services I provide counseling to students and alumni who are in need of more intensive services than an academic adviser can provide. I create a space for career exploration, identification of professional and academic skills, deciding which major is the best fit for individual needs, stress management, and resource awareness. The intensity of higher education and the inevitable job search which follows can be overwhelming. Students have access to our counseling services to help process job search related depression, barriers and feelings of failure. Through on-site supervision I am learning how to combine my counseling approach with my workforce experience to assist Texas State students as they cope with the world of work. Show less
