      Started one man operation selling recycled office products to colleges and large businesses. After initial success based on existing relationships the economy put the breaks on recycled sales. During this initial phase I found that if I created the layout for letterheads, corporate newsletters, etc I could keep client costs competitive with non-recycled products. The higher costs for recycled office products was offset by not charging for design. This was early in the desk-top publishing era and I soon found myself in demand as a layout/design person, though my design skills were quite limited.
