Rachel Murrey
I began the experience of being coached with an open mind despite having a couple of doubts about how useful it could really be. Ultimately I am so grateful I took the opportunity to get involved because I have learnt so much from my coaching sessions with Sean, particularly around acceptance and self belief, the results of which have boosted my confidence in so many areas. Sean is a really humble and warm person who is easy to chat to which makes the experience of being coached an enjoyable one. Overall I found being coached incredibly useful and can see why it is a real asset for anyone who is feeling like they need a new or refreshing view on their current situation!
Jennifer Bell, MBA
Sean has coached me through some pivotal moments in both my career and personal life. He is incredibly knowledgeable about what makes us think and act the way we do and how to change our limiting behaviours. His easy-going nature and willingness to share his own experiences make him very relatable, and he has a great sense of humour! Sean’s focus on life-enhancing transformational change rather than band-aid fixes makes him stand out as an authentic life coach.
Nicola Rutt
For someone who has had very little coaching in the past, I’ve found sessions with Sean insightful. Sean has a calm and relaxed manner, providing an environment which encourages open and honest conversation. He has helped me to look at situations with a different perspective and arrive at solutions that have sometimes been unexpected. Having one-to-one sessions with Sean has been valuable on both a personal and work level.

Coach
-
Apr 2019 - Nov 2022
Over this period, I gained my ICF accreditation and Post Graduate Certificate in Business and Personal Coaching. Self-employed, my clients in the UK came from many industries, including HR, Architecture and Banking, but unsurprisingly the majority came from Leadership and management roles from within the UK Advertising, Media and Marketing Industry. During my year in Norway (Jan 2021-Feb 2022) COVID delayed work permits, so I sought out pro-bono work via Zoom with UK media professionals who were earlier in their careers. I found this area of work to be extremely fulfilling and is an area of coaching I am keen to progress. Show less

Managing Partner
-
Jan 2014 - Oct 2016
I joined the Board of M2M from PHD to take on the role of Managing Partner (SVP) in charge of the Estee Lauder Companies (ELC) business. I was tasked with bringing in new thinking and approaches to break category conventions and to mend a broken agency/client relationship. Key achievements • Drove overall ELC savings up by 52% in Year 1 despite a reduction in spend of 12% YoY. • Quickly built a close relationship with the new ELC Head of Media UK & Ireland which allowed the swift development of new ways of working, best practice and expected behaviours of both sides. • Successfully moved the client/ agency relationship to a partnership from a largely servile position. • Rebuilt and restructured the ELC team of 31 individuals at M2M to better deliver against the new ways of working and to drive FTE efficiencies. • Introduced and secured the adoption of a new ELC planning process. • Used the above as a platform from which to drive more revenue-generating opportunities o Moved ELC digital investment from 14% - 38% share of total media spend in 2 years, from a historical press-led approach. o Created the first ever ELC Portfolio Annual OOH deal with Talon, generating £1m in added value from a spend of £4.6M o Introduced specialist services such as Drum (content creation) and Brand Science (Digital Pathway analysis) to the business. Managing Partner
-
Feb 2010 - Jan 2014
I was promoted to Managing Partner (SVP) and to the Senior Leadership Team in February 2010 and led the Cadbury business alongside the McCain, Expedia and British Heart Foundation (BHF) accounts. Subsequently, the Kraft takeover of Cadbury meant a consolidation pitch, which we won. I led the transition of the Cadbury and Kraft business into PHD, structuring the running of the planning and buying team of over 30 individuals for the newly formed Mondelez business. Over this period, I also led the Warner Bros, MTV and Comedy Central media accounts and was responsible for a total of over £100M in media billings. Our work on McCain achieved great business success, which was widely recognized including multiple Media Week awards, a Marketing Society award, 2 IPA Effectiveness awards and a Cannes Media Lion.Key achievements• Built, structured, and led a cohesive agency team of 32 to manage the new Mondelez business.• Successfully transitioned this volatile merger of two companies into PHD.• Created and introduced the ‘Nudge Board’ initiative to PHD in 2010. With its basis in behavioural economics, it was a simple tool that turned potential agency gripes into positive actions and staff empowerment. Successful and adopted by other agencies.• Initiated and implemented the first annual Warner Bros OOH Partnership deal, securing £10M worth of OOH for £8M and secured another 25% in added value.• Put in place Warner Bros first annual partnership deal with Time Out & Shortlist driving an additional 30% value.• 3 Media Week award wins contributing to PHD’s Media Week Agency of the Year award in 2011 (McCain – Best Use of Research, BHF Angina Monologues – Media Idea Medium / Grand Prix). Media Group Manager rising to Business Director
-
Nov 2002 - Feb 2010
Key achievements• I was promoted to the PHD Board in 2008.• In 2007 I took on the newly created role of PHD’s Head of Out of Home. I successfully drove additional OOH revenue alongside managing the relationships between PHD, specialists and contractors.• Promoted to the lead on the McCain account whilst their business was at its lowest ebb, having become associated with obesity through the UK media. We partnered with creative agency BMB to create the ‘It’s all Good’ campaign to overcome this unfair assessment. 'It's all Good' became the business idea for the whole company, and the campaign generated incremental profit worth up to £263.2m with a ROMI of £3.28. I took a year out from September 2001 – October 2002, travelling through India, SE Asia, Indonesia, Australasia and Scandinavia and in the process met my future wife Silje on a beach in Vietnam.
