I worked in the Shelby County School district as a 6th Grade Social Studies teacher at Sherwood Middle School in the neighborhood of Orange Mound. In my final year and a half at Sherwood I served as the Social Studies content chair and participated in ILT meetings in this capacity. The ILT, or Instructional Leadership Team, made and provided input on a variety of decisions across the school. In this capacity I was responsible for informal walkthroughs and providing feedback to Social Studies teachers to improve Social Studies instruction, in collaboration with my Social Studies Administrative Lead and PLC Coach.
