Youth Leader
-
Aug 2011 - Jun 2012
While a youth leader at Marston Middle School, I ensured the safety, security and well being of the middle school students enrolled in the before and afterschool program. In addition, I provided counseling services for program participants in need of individual outreach. I was able to utilize my event planning skills within my position to coordinate several activities for my students, taking them on field trips and constructing community events for them to put on as a school. I held several workshops for the students to enhance their personal development.

As a healthy eating advocate, I worked on a governmentally funded project to endorse nutritious eating habits among the San Diego Filipino Community and promote healthy eating options at various food establishments in the greater San Diego Area. Before leaving the program, I aided with writing a grant to continue funding for the healthy eating campaign
