The position I hold is as a Lead Hardware Engineer within the sensor team. The sensor being a Tyre Pressure Monitoring Sensor (TPMS) for vehicles. Hardware consists of a custom ASIC, LF, RF, Motion Detection and Pressure sensor. My daily duties include: - Tyre Pressure Sensor project management – Lead engineer on high profile customer projects with tight timelines (most notably BMW & Mercedes). - Generate and maintain engineering documents – Bill of Materials, CAD Documents, PCB Layout, Artwork/Schematic, Customer Hardware Specs, Sensor DFMEA. - Attend regular meetings, both telephone conference and face-to-face. - Support the customer by assisting with testing at customer test grounds (Germany/Sweden). - Interact with various departments where necessary to assist in the development of the sensor and introduction to production. - Extensive testing of wheel electronics throughout the product life-cycle and support field issues after product launch. - Fault finding - spectrum analyser, multi-meter and oscilloscope are primary tools when investigating. - Interact with ASIC supplier to route cause issue when they arise. - Create sensor timelines for testing and customer sensor deliverable's. - Report regularly to management on progress through MS Power Point slides. - Generate validation reports for both internal records and the customer when required. - Assist and guide junior engineers and help them successfully carry out their role. - Data analysis using MATLAB and Excel (Visual Basic). - Completed ILM Level 2 in Leadership and Management. - Completed Greenbelt Six Sigma – used for data analysis/presentation and problem investigation.
