  SUNY Plattsburgh's LGBTQ* Student Union provides a space for the university's LGBTQ+ students to interact, learn, and participate in union-hosted events. Positions are filled by vote once each academic year. Elected Treasurer in 2014, Vice President in 2015, and President in 2016 and 2017. As Treasurer I was responsible for planning and managing the union's budget, overseeing and approving union purchases, proposing a long-term budget for the following semester, and securing funds for said long-term budget. As Vice President I managed union communications (incoming and outgoing), helped plan and promote local events, and fulfilled the duties of President when necessary. As President, I oversaw all union activities, planned weekly meetings, approved union events, approved union budget spending, and acted as a representative of the union in external community meetings.
