Sean is a naturally gifted writer and extremely hardworking journalist. Sean's dedication to fairness brings a truly objective eye to his work and has won him formal recognition on several occasions. Over the years I've known him, Sean has been a proven self-starter, learning new and mastering new skills to help his employers put out the best product possible (he has the skills to produce an article from interview to page layout). I periodically have the pleasure of working with Sean and look forward to it every time.

The World Academy of Sciences for the advancement of science in developing countries, known as TWAS, supports sustainable prosperity through research, education, policy and diplomacy. TWAS is a programme unit of UNESCO. Work includes: • Production of articles about science in the developing world for TWAS print publications and website. This includes articles about individual TWAS scientists and their work, major issues in science policy and science diplomacy, and the issue of refugee scientists displaced by crises in their home countries. Writing work also entails drafting of press releases and coverage of conferences and events. Work has also included development of an official statement for TWAS on COVID-19, editing and proofreading material as needed, and speechwriting for TWAS leadership. • Drafting and coordination of the TWAS Annual Report. Also helped plan a redesign of the Report in 2014 to include graphs and charts to better illustrate the accomplishments and activities of TWAS, as well as enhance its visual appeal for the general public. • Developement and management of TWAS social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, to promote articles, fellowship and grant opportunities, events and conferences, and general news from TWAS. • Graphic design, photo preparation, and proofreading.
