Camp Oochigeas is a non-profit organization that facilitates year-round programs for children (0-18) affected by cancer. As the Director of Programs, I have had the pleasure of working closely with Sean both in a professional capacity through his work at The York School and his incredible 15 years of year-round volunteering at Camp Ooch. Sean is strategic planner who creates intentional programs that set participants up for success and growth. Of his many strengths community engagement, program development, leadership and risk management are stands-outs he has contributed to our organization. Furthermore Sean is a true people person who is able to connect, motivate and support people of all ages, experiences and abilities.

I have worked closely with Sean Mitchell for over a decade. In his role as the Director of Student Life, Sean has demonstrated a skill set that is both unique and essential for any organization. Not only is Sean a highly organized and meticulous coordinator, he is also a passionate advocate for student success and personal growth. Sean has the unique ability to be a prime mover in the cultural development of an organization. He understands human dynamics and has a distinctive ability to elicit the best effort and attitudes from those he works with. Sean is equally capable with both young people and adults. His emotional intelligence is superior. Sean’s contributions to The York School continue to last. He has established traditions and norms that define the institution. He has a highly professional work ethic and superior interpersonal skills that contribute to the successful realization of shared goals and strategic direction. Sean can easily see the big picture.
