The Phoenix Care Centre is the first new building to be constructed as part of the redevelopment of the old St Brendan's Hospital site in Grangegorman. The new building has a total floor area of 7,600m² comprising new residential accommodation for patients with 54 bedrooms and en-suites, recreational rooms, clinical rooms, administration areas, seclusion rooms and therapy gardens. The building is spread over three floors which are constructed around two Internal Courtyards.

Sisk were employed as the main contractor and responsible for the management and construction of the fit-out works along with playing an integral role in assisting the client and design team in the design and development of the works. The works were completed over three phases with an overall duration of 19 weeks. During Phases 2 & 3, SISK delivered the project whilst ensuring BSKYB’s live call centre was uninterrupted.

Primary Care & Mental Health Centre for the treatment of the public with nursing, therapy, GP, mental health, dentistry and community services. The accommodation also includes a separate single storey crèche. The building is a concrete framed structure finished with an internal block wall and a combination of facing brick and ceramic tile rainscreen cladding. Windows are composite aluminium windows with some aluminium curtain walling. Internal plasterboard partitions with vinyl floor finishes. Ceilings are a combination of MF, ceiling tiles and exposed concrete ceiling finishes. Mechanical Services include new gas and water incoming services, central heating centre installation, soils and wastes, water services, air conditioning and ventilation, heating services and protective services installations. The project involved:• Construction & fit-out of 50,000 seat stadium over double basement• New underground car park underneath the new back pitch• Stadium fit-out including construction of entrance areas, bars, WC’s, offices, media facilities, restaurant areas, kiosks, premium box areas, presidential suite etc.• New pitch installation including advertising boards, screens etc.• Stadium Management Building, a separate facility which also includes the new Wanderers’ Football Club Pavilion.The new stadium has all seated capacity of 50,000 and consists of a continuous curvilinear shaped stand enclosing all four sides of the ground. The South, East and West Stands have four tiers of seating for spectators. The second tier provides facilities for premium ticket holders while the third tier provides facilities for corporate boxes. The North Stand comprises of one low level seating tier to reflect its proximity to the residential properties at that end of the ground. Show less

I worked as a Student Quantity Surveyor on this project, the largest ever commercial development in Ireland and one of the most comprehensive suburban regeneration schemes ever undertaken in either Ireland or the UK. Incorporated into the 17 acre site is a 281,747m2 structure comprising 90,000m2 retail area; 12-screen multiplex cinema; 23,000m2 office space; more than 30 restaurants; 200-seat theatre; 27 apartments; medical centre; day-care centre; adult education centre; pub; underground car parking for 3,500 cars. The project won numerous awards and was successfully completed within programme and budget.
