I had the pleasure to be hired by, and work for, Scott Varner at Pax Labs (formally Ploom). Scott was a tremendous leader of a growing national sales force tasked to drive sales for an upstart technology company competing in the CPG industry. His ability to implement a comprehensive plan, and then adjust when neccesary in the ever-changing CPG environment, was essential to bring 3 new product brands to national awareness. Scott nurtured the best sales attributes within myself and the team. He also worked to improve technique through direct and constructive evaluation with an approach that made me want to succeed and work harder at perfecting my sales acumen. What impressed me most is that he led by example by working in the field as well as running sales from an airplane more than a desk. He spent time in the field working side by side with Divisional Managers, he opened doors for Key Accounts to close deals, and grew outstanding business relationships with our top wholesaler partners. His work in the field inspired the whole team to rally behind his example and drive business and partnership. A leader in all aspects of the word.
