To address reports of violence against women, as well as other violations of international humanitarian law, the UK has deployed an expert from its Stabilisation Unit. The Stabilisation Unit is an entity within the UK Government that was set up to respond to complex challenges of fragile and conflict-affected states. The Unit reports to the Ministry of Defence, Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Department for International Development. The objective of the Trainer / Advisor is to address capacity deficiencies of the Malian Armed Forces to protect civilians against human rights violations through providing training services.
