I'm constantly amazed at how bright he is, quickly picking up new things, and always looking for a better solutions to everything, even in unknown frameworks and languages, as well as often overlooked things like development tooling. Truely a pleasure working with Scott, great communication skills, and real passion for interesting technical things.

Code Monkeys are a small company based in Wakefield providing GPS fleet tracking solutions. This is a bit of an unusual story in terms of career as I used to work here in 2015. It’s actually the company that provided me with my first “proper” development role. I decided to leave in 2016 to work on my skillset, which Tom, the MD fully supported. 3 Years later, I ended up returning to assist with a new project he had taken on. The project involved writing a brand-new GPS Tracking Panel for a US company. I worked very closely with the client, often working late to fit in with the time difference. I also completed a few side projects during my time here, including writing a monitoring dashboard to be displayed on a TV in the office which would flag issues on the many servers we hosted. I also re-designed and wrote the company website, and re-designed and wrote his sister companies website. Unfortunately, that project has now ended, and following COVID-19, I will not have a role to return to due to the lack of work. Show less

Managing & maintaining various tracking applications as well as producing new applications for clients on a strict timescale. For example, we produced a "Command and Control center" for Manchester Medical Services which I was heavily involved in and provided 75% of the total code for the system, as well as made decisions on the best approach to tackle tasks. Performing 1st line checks and taking further action when required, for instance, logging onto dual router sites and performing remote reboots, contacting sites and requesting hard reboots, ordering parts to be delivered to site and also arranging engineer visits. I also had a specific "problem" customer assigned to me, who had a unique system in place and required "special treatment" and different processes to the norm. I was also put in charge of managing high priority incidents which require logging to various providers and updates provided to several service delivery managers and customers. When my queue was fully up to date, i would often help my colleagues maintain their queue to ensure customers we're kept happy and issues we're resolved ASAP. Show less
