STEM Works (Science Technology Engineering & Maths) run a wide range of activities such as workshops, competitions and awards to inspire young people from all backgrounds to consider careers in Engineering, Science and Technology. I have worked at many schools in the Forest of Dean; Little Dean Primary, Mitcheldean Primary, Lakers High School, Wyedean and I am currently an ambassador for Dene Magna School Inspiring the next generation of STEM related careers. I help run work shops, coach students and give presentations and advice on STEM career’s. I exclusively represented Versarien at Berkley Green UTC by helping with the start up of the UTC. I did this by running careers fairs/evenings to raise awareness of the UTC and VRS. The Project Engineer at Versarien Technologies, a Cheltenham based engineering company. Started as a 16-year old Apprentice, I have been with the company for 5-years and worked in Cheltenham and 2 other Versarien subsidiary companies in Manchester and High Wycombe as part of my development. During my Apprenticeship I gained my NVQ L3 in Mechanical Engineering through attending Gloucester College and thereafter extended my education with a Two year Foundation Degree Course in Mechanical Engineering that I have now completed. Outside my 'day-job', I get Involved in promoting Versarien PLC as a STEM Ambassador, mentor for FAMELab students at local schools and attend local and even national engineering shows & events - exhibiting the company's wide range of engineering products from Aluminium Extrusions, Copper Foam Heat-sinks through Tungsten Carbide products to Graphene.
