Digital Marketer, Marketing Strategist
-
Jan 2022 - Present
At the free press I mainly create ads using Google Ad Manager, Facebook Ads, and Google Ads. Occasionally I will meet with clients to strategize on long term marketing plans. In these conversations I will usually work with the salesperson and client to strategize future digital marketing campaigns. I will finalize these sessions by creating personalized marketing proposals. There are some accounts where I am a primary contact almost as Jr Account Manager role. For these clients I am in contact with them in a daily basis. My responsibility for them is to keep them happy and ahead of the curve when it comes to anything marketing. I have coached these clients on how to word their ads, market themselves, and even how to respond to google reviews. When I am not being technical I get to flex my creative side by shooting and editing the occasional biography style videos. I also have a few clients that I manage social media accounts for, including our own Free Press Advertising Linkedin account. There has been many improvements that I have championed while at the Free Press, such as creating a system to better utilize our house ads. I have also been included in many product development meetings where we brainstorm new advertising products.

Website Manager

Jul 2020 - Jan 2022
A sister company to Northern Bicycle Co. While at Bikes & Beyond worked on a casual basis to upgrade their website design and navigation. I was able to clean up the homepage of any unnecessary content thus increasing the loading speed. I was also able to redesign the main navigation of the website making it easier for users to find their products. A sister company to Northern Bicycle Co. Store Manager and Digital Marketer
-
Apr 2020 - Jan 2022
As the store manager, day to day I would manage a team of 2-3 people and make sure the right products were sold to the right customers. I would also do technical service writing when bringing in bikes to repair. These documents needed to be accurate and easy to read by our mechanics. I was responsible for opening and closing the store, making sure the store was always presentable and cashing out at the end of the day. Throughout the month I would also manage the inventory with the owner of the shop. In managing the inventory I had the ability to suggest new products to bring in and restock products. When I wasn't selling to customers I would be managing our digital marketing. By leveraging Google ads and SEO I increased traffic to our website. Then using google analytics I kept a constant eye on what pages were trending, and what customers were trying to find. I would use this data to make an easy to navigate site map which increased our online sales and checkout rates.. These strategies gave us the ability to not just survive through the Pandemic, but thrive!

At Bold I mainly did B2B sales and support for saas based products. On the onboarding team I ensured that customers using our software were fully aware of all the benefits it can bring to their business. When I would be chatting to these clients I got a broad exposure to how their business ran and how they managed digital marketing strategies. I would then use this experience to offer marketing suggestions to other clients to maximize their ecommerce store's effectiveness. While at Bold I also ran a book club where we would read a book in a month. Once we finished the book we would present the lessons we learnt on a stage to the entire company.

Investors Group was a great lesson on how the Canadian financial system functions. While there I did tasks ranging from opening accounts, completing transfers, and helping customers. At investors group I learnt how to manage my time effectively and to be 100% confident in any information I was passing onto a consultant or client. A lot of our work was relied upon to be done fast and correctly as people were waiting for our withdrawals or account transfers so the client could buy a house or pay for their school.

I would act as the senior product expert in the call center at Cabelas Canada. Our team of about 15 would rely on me to give them expert advice in all things camping, hunting, archery, and shooting. I would be expected in staying ahead of the industry in product trends and be able to educate customers and teammates on the new products we got in. My most notable achievements were redesigning a B2B marketing program, writing team newsletter, creating sales quotes, and networking with vendors. I was expected to find the benefits of over 10,000 different products in camping and clothing.
