Network Support Technician

Responsible for daily management of many servers, including: DNS, DHCP, SCCM (for operating system deployment), key management, windows deployment services (including creating and distributing operating systems), file storage, and Active Directory (user creation, deletion, modification, and group policy). Assume the responsibility of monitoring trouble tickets, including assigning jobs to technicians as well as personally working on submits jobs. Helpdesk management also requires the maintenance and expansion of the organizations Book of Knowledge, outlining known fix actions and processes that may be encountered by helpdesk personnel. Sun Solaris Administrator

Responsible for the maintenance of a Sun Solaris network, which includes an application server, database server, a Global Information Services (GIS) server, two administrative servers, a storage area network (SAN), and a Cisco switch. The system maintenance includes, but is not limited to, user account management, applying upgrade and security patches, system backups, building and connecting Sun Solaris workstations to the network, and troubleshooting outages. Leadership duties will consist of direct supervision of 2 – 4 personnel, and management of Air Force personnel within the section. Will train new personnel of Sun Solaris administration and career path training. Coordinates with local Sun Microsystems sales personnel to determine the best upgrade equipment to purchase, including negotiating training into the purchase. Additional Duties: Equipment custodian, responsible for tracking approximately $1.5 million of IT equipment, including the addition of newly purchased equipment and proper disposal of old equipment.
