  My role involves teaching KS3, GCSE & A-Level Geography in a high-achieving boys' grammar school which places emphasis on the teacher’s academic knowledge and skills. Throughout my teaching I utilize ICT and online resources as tools for learning where appropriate. I also have some knowledge of the Cambridge Pre-U course in Geography. I was promoted to the Head of House for one of the school houses in my first full term. Furthermore in the summer term of 2011 I worked as an Acting Head of Department in Geography due to the long-term absence of the incumbent Head of Department, and tasked with many of the roles that a Head of Department is expected to fulfil, such as organising exam revision sessions, attending Head of Department meetings, coursework moderation and budgetary management. Since July 2012 I have also been Head of Department for Citizenship/Personal Development. This role has meant I have had to research and create new schemes of work in line with the National Curriculum requirements, deliver extra classes within the subject, and manage a roster of ten teaching colleagues, chairing weekly meetings within the department.
