I had the opportunity to take over a multi-million dollar company that was facing immediate bankruptcy and was able to take steps to revive it and keep the doors open another 1 1/2 years. Heartsteps designed Christian and Inspirational products in the US and then had them manufactured in various plants in China and shipped to multiple warehouses in the US for distribution. Because product lines were old and had not been updated, we were forced to liquidate all of the existing products and try to introduce an entire new line with a brand new look. We were successful with liquidating all of the existing products and launched a catalog of new products, but our early sales forecasts of the new product line did not meet the projected levels we needed to roll out the entire line. Therefore we decided it was best to liquidated the rest of the business and cut our losses there. Accomplishment: * Designed an entire new product line and catalog in 10 months to fit the newer sales trends. * Developed relationships with new manufacturers in China for creating new product lines. * Renegotiated contracts with all existing Chinese Manufacturers. * Setup a new warehouse in California to cut shipping costs coming in from China. * Renegotiated sales rep contracts and setup new rep territories based on who was really selling. * Setup a marketing plan, including direct mail campaigns and telemarketing efforts. * Hired new staff and developed a strong production and sales team.
