Responsible for ensuring commercial vessels (U.S.& foreign), offshore units, and regulated shoreside facilities operate in full compliance with applicable federal laws and regulations, management of waterways, marine accident investigations. Led department of 60 personnel. HIGHLIGHTSDeputy, Federal On Scene Commander for major Incident Command System response involving over 600 personnel for adrift arctic drilling rig that eventually grounded. Participated in subsequent marine board investigation, oversaw salvage of rig and heavy lift load out.On-scene Commander for Incident Command System operation in support of critical winter delivery of fuel via foreign tank ship to an "iced-in" Alaska town. Managed icebreaking operations, air operations including ROVs, and unprecedented over the ice transfer of fuel with no pollution.Initial Incident Commander and Operations Section Chief for Incident Command System response to adrift deep draft cargo ship drifting dangerously close to shore. Successful retrieval, averted near certain environmental disaster.Led Coast Guard's regulatory and oil spill response oversight of industry Arctic drilling program. Show less
